  • Open burning: turning into poisonous gases like dioxins and furans.
• Ineffective ban on single-use plastics: many banned items, like plastic carry bags and cutlery, are still widely available, especially within the informal sector such as food industry.
• Microplastic Contamination: tiny plastic particles less than 5mm in size are found in all all tested brands of salt and sugar in India, as well as in water, and even in human blood and breast milk.
